I’ve tried a few different power sources (including quick charger of my phone) as well as different USB cables – no joy. The router came without a power adapter – it’s the orange TR1200 – the travel one.

The router can not be powered up according to your description. Please try to change a charger (such as the charger of your phone) to power on the router and check if if the problem is related to the router or just the power supply adaper?
If the problem is related to the router. Please contact the seller to request a replacement. If the problem is related to the power supply adaper. Please also contact the seller to request a warranty. But you can use it first. Then you can buy a new power adapter and request a part refund.

I bought a brand new TR1200. after connecting to power source I wasn’t able to find it in available wi-fi connections neither on my laptop nor a smartphone (I also installed the app). I tried disconnecting and re-connecting power. nothing changed. I tried holding the reset button – the red LED at the front never blinked. It does light up and stays solid red all the time. next I connected the router using network cable to my laptop. I can’t access the web interface neither typing the cudy.net nor the IP address. I followed all the steps from the tutorial basically and no success. the ethernet connection on the laptop shows as ‘unidentified’. when I ran diagnose of the ethernet connection it shows “Ethernet” doesn’t have a valid IP configuration. – and I did follow all the steps including No. 3. Is there anything else I could do or should I return the router?”
