AP3000D uses the same chipset as other AP3000 models, so the firmware should work. I would like to test this. If it does not work, I will build the required firmware from source.

We need the OpenWrt forum official support the router at first, then we can release a middle firmware for you, then you can use and upgrade to the OpenWrt firmware. Do you have the OpenWrt firmware for AP3000D? If yes, please share it to us.
