Dear Cudy Support,

I am trying to install OpenWrt on my WR3000E V1.0 router but encountering an issue.

Device information:
- Model: WR3000E V1.0
- Serial Number: 2549XXXXX (new revision with NAND flash F50L1G41LC, SN ≥ 2543)
- Current firmware: 2.4.19-20250828-192837

Problem:
I downloaded the file “cudy_wr3000e-v1-sysupgrade_20251119.bin” (MD5: 249c150e7676facc9f33d79e634ec4a3) but the router rejects it with “Invalid file” error.

I understand that routers with SN ≥ 2543 require a special intermediary firmware compatible with the new flash chip (post-November 2025). The file dated 2025-11-19 appears to be for older revisions only.

Could you please provide the correct intermediary firmware for WR3000E V1.0 with new flash (SN 2549)?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards, Pavel

Павел

@Dear ahmed,
You router is WR3000, not WR3000E. I have sent you the correct firmware.

Dear CUDY support! Earlier, with your help, I updated my AP3000 v1 to openwrt. Now I need to revert to the factory software. The LUCI web interface complains about an invalid file, and holding down the reset button and supplying power doesn’t work either. Can you help me figure out what to do?

Dan

Dear Cudy Support Team,

I desperately need your assistance with my bricked WR3000E router. Here is the complete situation:

Device Details:

Model: Cudy WR3000E

Hardware Version: v1.0

Original Firmware: 2.2.6-20240902-033948

What I have done:

Downloaded official firmware WR3000E-R53-2.4.7-20250528-182254-sysupgrade.zip from your website

Renamed it to recovery.bin and attempted TFTP recovery

The TFTP transfer completed successfully (log attached – 20MB transferred in 9 seconds)

After transfer, the router’s internet LED flashed slowly for over 20 minutes

After power cycling, only the power LED is on

The router responds to ARP and has IP address 192.168.1.112

However:

Cannot access web interface at 192.168.1.112

Cannot connect via SSH or Telnet (connection timed out)

Internet LED does not light up normally

My question:

Is my router recoverable?

Do you have a special recovery tool or different firmware file for units with 128MB flash (if mine is one of those)?

Should I try a different recovery method?
