Some other customer has developed the OpenWrt firmware.But I can’t find it on the OpenWrt forum. You can try to develop the OpenWrt firmware or find the OpenWrt firmware. We have offer the intermediate firmware to other customer. If you get the OpenWrt firmware, we can send the intermediate firmware to you guys too.

Yes, it is OK to update the intermediate firmware.

I notice that the Cudy Intermediary OpenWrt file is older than the current stock Cudy firmware – this is still OK to flash over the stock?"
