Cudy Upgrades Easy-Managed Switches with Cudy Cloud

Shenzhen, China — Cudy recently announced the release of Cudy Cloud support on its Easy-Managed Switch lineup (formerly Light-Managed Switch). The first batch of supporting models include GS1028EPS2, GS1016EPS2, and GS1016ES2, and the support list will expand to all Easy-Managed switches excepting GS105ES1 and GS1005PTS1 v5.

The Cudy Cloud enables installers and network administrators to monitor, configure, and troubleshoot switches remotely via the Cudy App — with no hardware controllers to purchase and no monthly subscription fees.

The announcement positions Cudy’s Easy-Managed Switches as an accessible yet capable alternative to enterprise-grade managed switching solutions, targeting small businesses, retail environments, schools, hospitality venues, and the reseller and installer community.

Cudy Cloud: Remote Management at No Extra Cost

Cudy Cloud, accessible through the Cudy App on iOS and Android, allows users to centrally monitor and manage all connected Cloud Easy-Managed Switches from a single unified dashboard. Key remote management capabilities include:

Real-time switch status monitoring, including PoE budget utilization, traffic throughput, and per-port information

Remote reboot of connected devices such as IP cameras and wireless access points, without a site visit

Network topology visualization for a full graphical view of connected devices (available via upcoming firmware update)

Real-time alerts and notifications when network issues are detected (available via upcoming firmware update)

Onboarding process is as follows: connect the switch into a network with internet access, enable the Cloud Management in its configuration page, DHCP, and auto DNS, open the Cudy App on the phone, enter the switch serial number, and bind the device to a Cudy account. Two Feature Sets with Expansion Options

Based on the hardware structure, Cudy Easy-Managed Switches provide two sets of software for business network performance and security, the basic Easy-Managed include some of the most classical management features for SMB:

  • VLAN — Segment guest Wi-Fi from corporate data traffic to maintain security boundaries
  • QoS (802.1p / DSCP) — Prioritize VoIP, video conferencing, and business-critical traffic to reduce latency
  • Link Aggregation (Static LAG) — Bond multiple ports for increased throughput and redundancy; Dynamic LACP available on customized orders

Most Gigabit models feature Easy-Managed Plus, which provide higher level of management features, including:

  • DHCP Snooping — Automatically block unauthorized DHCP servers to prevent network disruptions
  • LLDP — Automatically discover and map neighboring network devices, enabling faster troubleshooting and accurate network documentation without manual inventory
  • SNMP — Integrate switches into third-party network management platforms for centralized monitoring, alerting, and performance reporting across the full IT infrastructure
  • Cable Diagnostics — Detect and locate cable faults, short circuits, and impedance issues on connected copper links, reducing on-site troubleshooting time without specialist equipment

For IT environments requiring more features, Cudy offers a firmware expansion option available on special order, unlocking additional enterprise-grade features:

  • STP/RSTP — Prevent network loops and enable automatic failover for resilient, redundant topologies
  • Dynamic Link Aggregation (LACP) — Dynamically negotiate and manage aggregated uplinks for enhanced bandwidth and redundancy
  • Voice/Surveillance VLAN — Automatically identify and isolate VoIP and IP camera traffic for guaranteed prioritization and simplified deployment
