    Without DNS over TLS

    Your website lookup request is not encrypted by default, so there are chances that hackers or DNS servers on public Wi-Fi learn what website you've browsed, sell them to ad providers, or even direct you to the manipulated IP addresses.

    With DNS over TLS

    Your website lookup requests will be encrypted and handled by trusted DNS providers including Cloudflare, Google, and Quad9. The Quad9 has made no-logging claims, so literally, no one can know which websites you have visited.
